＋The Saint Bernard is #53 in the Most Popular Dog Breeds in the USA for 2021. The Saint Bernard is considered a Giant Dog and is in the Working Group. Long time occupant of Switzerland he helped locate freezing and stranded travellers (with Monks from the Hospice of "St Bernard Pass") also worked on Avalanche crews to find people trapped beneath snow. They were Guard and Cart dogs. The first writing of Saints was in 1707 where they told of how they saved people in the pass from Italy to Switzerland. In 3 centuries they were hailed to save approximately 2000 lives.
